A Fauci Ouchie beats a Kennedy Extremity

I remember the COVID-19 pandemic. I remember our whole world shutting down. And in all that time, we were hoping there was an answer for this insidious virus that could either kill you quickly – or leave you battling lingering after-effects.

I remember it well. Which is why, when the first vaccines rolled out, I joined a waitlist to get my vaccination. I remember it would take two injections 30 days apart; and spaces for vaccine appointments were spread all over New York – heck, I was prepared to drive two hours to White Plains to get my shot. Eventually, however, my primary care doctor offered the Pfizer shot in her medical office, so I rolled up my sleeve and took my first (and 30 days later, my second) Fauci Ouchie.

I remember the next batch of COVID-19 vaccinations. Crossgates Mall turned their closed Lord & Taylor store into a COVID-19 vaccination clinic, and I got a jab there. The Big E offered COVID-19 vaccinations one year (each vaccination included a $5 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card), so I rolled up my sleeve then as well.

I remember the procedures – carrying a vaccination card, later the Excelsior Pass on my phone. I remember people chiding me for wearing a mask everywhere, their not understanding that my safety supersedes their ignorance. And all the quackery from people who thought they were smarter than medical professionals – hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, drinking straight hydrogen peroxide, all of those. And that includes jackasses who used COVID-19 masking requirements as their own personal vendetta against the government.

Yesterday, I drove over to a local pharmacy in Cohoes, rolled up my arm, and got the updated COVID-19 shot, and added my flu shot for good measure. Arm feels fine, no side effects, and as far as I can tell, there’s no miniaturized tracking device circulating through my bloodstream. To my knowledge, anyway …

But the thing is … COVID-19 has not gone away. We’re no longer in a pandemic, but we ARE in an endemic. COVID-19 will be around for a very long time, mutating and regenerating to try to wreak havoc one more time on all of us. And all the horseshit that Robert F Kennedy Jr spews about how COVID-19 causes autism – bro, you have no clue.

I’ve seen the damage and wreckage COVID-19 has caused. Good people dying from it. More good people barely surviving with “Long COVID” symptoms. And every COVID infection has its own insidious results – shortness of breath, scarred heart tissue, you name it.

So, yeah, when the annual COVID-19 vaccines arrive, I’m rolling up my sleeve and taking one for the team. And a flu shot as well, because we’re still dealing with influenza outbreaks.

I’m just saying … if you’re able … get to your local pharmacy or medical professional and get your COVID-19 vaccination.

Be safe.
